When you become an EMS member, EMS will ask you to fill out a form that requests disclosure of your name, address and e-mail address, as well as some demographic information such as gender and date of birth.
EMS may share this information with trusted partners to help EMS perform order fulfillment and statistical analysis.
With respect to your business information, EMS will only use such information to process orders and the solicitation of additional business unless your prior written consent is given to EMS. Without your consent, this information will NEVER be sold, distributed, rented or traded to others for purposes other than order fulfillment, EMS reserves the right to disclose such information if required pursuant to a statute, a subpoena or other court order. In the event that EMS is required to disclose this information, if permitted, EMS will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide you with written notice of the information requested, provide you with information as to the name of the party requesting the information, if permissible under law, and provide you with the opportunity to challenge the disclosure.
With respect to your demographic information (gender, date of birth, etc.), it will be used for security purposes, to ensure you are who you say you are and, that you are, in fact, paying with authorized credit cards in your name. This security measure helps ensure that a third party is not using your stolen credit card(s) to purchase goods or services through EMS.
If you choose to use EMS’s referral service to tell a friend about the EMS Web site, EMS will ask you for your friend's name and email address. EMS will automatically send your friend an email inviting him or her to visit the EMS Web site. Unless otherwise required under law, as detailed below, EMS will use this information for the sole purpose of soliciting your friend’s business and may store this information on EMS’s databases.
When you visit the EMS Web site, EMS automatically logs your IP address, your browser type and your access times. EMS utilizes this information to conduct site performance evaluations, to see where visitors are coming from and to keep track of click stream data (the screens our users visit on our site). This data helps EMS to determine what content our members find most appealing so that EMS can maximize your enjoyment of the site. Log files are not tied to personally identifiable information.
All EMS employees take protection of your personal information very seriously. All employees must learn and follow EMS security policies. Access to member personal information is limited to key management personnel and EMS’s member services department. Personal information of EMS members is ID and password protected and EMS’s Web security is reviewed on a monthly basis. EMS has also installed and applied the EMS Web site with a 128 bit encryption SSL.
After becoming an EMS subscriber you may correct/update your personal information by clicking on the 'My Account' link at the top of any page, entering your ID, password and birth date when prompted and clicking the Edit Information button. The changes you make will be reflected in EMS’s databases instantly. If you wish to deactivate your account, you may contact EMS’s member services group through the 'My Account' section, or the 'Contact Us' section.
